THE RACE - ISSUE 19
All Aboard!
Okay, indulge me. Let me relive with you one of my favorite
70's television shows . . . "The Love Boat." Don't laugh (if you're
not laughing then either you're too young to remember the show, or you
live in a country where it was never broadcasted.)
The plot was
very predictable. A broken marriage is restored after a trip on "The Love
Boat." Rebellious children accept their need of parental guidance.
Loneliness gives way to love and relationship. Despair melts as one finds
new hope and a new reason for life.
Yes, it was a "feel good" show.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if there really existed a ship that could bring
hope? A ship where one could find love. Life.
There is.
Each
summer in Europe, thousands of believers from
different denominational backgrounds and different countries assemble
together to create "Love Boats." They hand out Christian literature and
films to boat passengers travelling to North Africa. Thousands receive the
Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time as a result of this powerful
ministry.
Despair is replaced by hope. Spiritual death by eternal life.
The ships become boats carrying the love of Christ.
The disciples in
the boat saw the power of Jesus and His lordship over the storm. "And
those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, 'You are certainly God's
Son!'" (Matthew 14:33) Oh, that God would reveal Himself to the thousands of
travelers this summer in the boats going to North Africa!
May the
fleet of "God's Love Boats" sail to North Africa with
His wonderful message of life!
SPECIAL NOTE: For the next couple of
months, you will receive updates, stories, and prayer needs of this
ministry. Your prayers and intercession for the summer projects are
greatly needed. Thank you for ministering with us!
Until all may
hear-
