Project Northern Lights 2001: The Touch
The power of touch. It can melt a heart. And it can heal a soul.
Our Lord demonstrated this in the Book of Matthew. After finishing the "Sermon on the Mount," Jesus came down from the mountain. Many people followed Him. Then, . . .
"a leper came to Him, and bowed down to Him, saying, 'Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.' And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, 'I am willing; be cleansed.' And immediately his leprosy was cleansed." (Matthew 8:2-3)
The healing touch of Jesus penetrated to the heart and soul of the leper!
Recently, at during the port ministry, a volunteer had the opportunity to talk with a North African man who has lived in France for nearly twenty years. They were able to talk about Christianity and Islam. The man confided that he had a brother in Algeria who has become a Christian.
However, he said that because his brother had become a Christian-- he was no longer his brother. He was neither dead or alive, he had become nothing. But he said that he missed his brother and that it hurt him that his culture forbid them to be brothers.
During the conversation, the man held hands with the volunteer. This is a common practice among friends in North Africa that shows a strong closeness. The Algerian then told the volunteer that he was now his first friend in France!
And that was after twenty years!!!
Please, pray that God will open this man's heart to the Gospel. Pray that the two brothers will once again become brothers . brothers in Christ!!!
All of North Africa for Christ!!!
