Project Northern Lights 2001: We Still Get Amazed!
As always it is amazing to see God at work in the lives of people that we meet at the port. We continue to rejoice in the Lord because He has allowed us to see His greatness as He is doing a great work here. Here are a couple of amazing wonders that we have been able to witness just this week!
An Algerian man came up to a volunteer who was distributing packets. This man said that he had seen Jesus. Most people's first reaction would be that perhaps this man had seen the "Jesus film." The volunteer found out that this man had never seen the Jesus film--- but had actually seen Jesus while praying in a mosque in Algeria. He said that others in the mosque could not see Jesus but he could. He also said that when he saw Jesus, God revealed to him that the 'Allah' that the people were praying to was the devil.
Praise the Lord for manifesting himself in power and in might to this man in the midst of spiritual darkness. Please, pray for this man that he would continue to let his light shine brightly. He has already been persecuted by some people who say that he is crazy. And please, pray that God would continue to reveal himself to the peoples of North Africa through such manifestations as well as through dreams.
One worker was distributing packets to cars as they entered the port. He offered a packet to a driver, but the man said that he did not want to take the packet because he was afraid of the government officials [when he got back to Algeria].
However his wife insisted, "On peut le cacher. On peut le cacher. On peut le cacher." [meaning, "We can hide it. We can hide it. We can hide it."] The worker gladly gave the packet to the family. This woman definitely had a desire to take the packet-- even at the cost of having problems with customs officials.
Praise God because He can remove all fear and that He has already won the battle against Satan. Please, pray that more and more people would desire to receive God's Word- just like this Algerian woman.
