THE RACE - ISSUE 39 July 2001
Project Northern Lights 2001: Fallacies

In ministering at the port, sometimes North Africans initially reject a Gospel packet only to come back later and accept one. For us, this is a testimony to the power and life found within the packets!

The Gospel message.

Recently, a volunteer offered a Gospel packet to a North African man three times and each time the man refused to receive the packet. Yet, when he walked up a staircase behind one of the distribution points, this "hard-hearted" North African signaled over to the volunteer very discretely asking him for a packet! Then, he ran up the stairs.

Please, pray for this man (and many other seekers) that all demonic fear of accepting God's word would be removed. Pray that the power of God would cause this man to read the Bible and watch the Jesus film AND accept the Gospel message found within!

One volunteer was handing out Gospel packets when a man came up and asked what was in the packet. When he discovered it was a Gospel packet, he refused it. He stayed in the area all morning, and the volunteer continued to talk with him. The conversation returned over and over again to the subject of faith.

This North African confided that he had read the Bible and thought it was a good book-- he even said that he owned one at home. He posed many questions and said that he was interested in talking about such spiritual matters again. He eventually left the volunteer to go inside the port. When he returned he was riding with a friend. He told his friend to stop at the gate because these people had books and tapes about Jesus to give away. His friend took one and then he took one for himself. He also made an arrangement with the volunteer to return for tea in order to talk some more about Jesus and the Bible.

Please, pray for this man that the Gospel seed planted within his heart would bring forth the fruit of eternal life. Pray for many more opportunities and divine appoints at the port for volunteers and staff as they seek to share the Gospel to all who will hear.

Fallacies, like "All Muslims are hard-hearted to the Gospel" or "Port distribution doesn't really effect the spiritual atmosphere of North Africa," are exposed as utterly unfounded in light of the Holy Spirit's moving. Indeed, the enemy is blinding the eyes and endarkening the souls of many North Africans.

Join us in praying that the Lord of the Harvest would restore sight to spiritually blind eyes and enlighten souls to the Gospel of love and forgiveness!!!

Thank you very much for your prayers for Project Northern Lights.

If you have friends who would like to receive these periodic PNL updates through the summer, please, send us their email address and we will be sure to send updates on to them!
